Nights Begin

The Gazebo, Institute Lane, Scituate, RI


Located in the center of North Scituate, the Gazebo will be our regular Friday night meeting place. The Gazebo is located on RI-116, in front of the North Scituate Elementary School on Institute Lane.

We plan on gathering at 6:00pm, any drives or rallies will begin about 6:45pm. When there is a driving event planned we will send email notifications and post them on the website. For driving events we will post a description of the event and the ending location, so club members that don't participate in the event can catchup with the group afterward.

Destination: Stonington Lighthouse Museum

We plan to gather at the Middle of Nowhere Diner, 222 Nooseneck Hill Rd, Exeter, RI at 10am and will depart at 10:30am. We will cruise the scenic backroads of Rhode Island and Connecticut to the historic Stonington Lighthouse Museum. We will plan on getting the group rate for the tour, $7 per person. We plan to make side trips for Lunch and Ice Cream.

BMCNE will visit the Roger Williams Park Carousel Village. A popular family destination in Roger Williams Park a short distance away from the Zoo. Food trucks serve Carousel village during Food Truck Friday.

We plan on meeting at the Slater Grove Park, parking lot located on Narragansett Parkway across the Landon Road. We will gather at 5:30 and then cruise to the Roger Williams Park, Carousel Village at 6pm.

Follow signs throughout Roger Williams Park for directions to the Carousel Village, which is located just by the park's boat house.

June 9th, BMCNE will join the Bristol Motorcar Festival's Friday Night Street Party in downtown Bristol. Club members will lead rides to the downtown celebrations (more information to come).

You may also choose to join the British Motorcar Festival participants as they will leave Colt State Park in a procession (5:45pm) to Independence Park in Downtown Bristol by Narragansett Bay and close to the shops, restaurants, and local watering holes where you will be greeted with reserved parking at the park and British Invasion Music for the evening. If we run out of parking spaces at the park we will have two overflow parking areas held in reserve.

61st Annual Newport
Motorcar Festival

Portsmouth Abbey School


BMCNE is planning a ride to the 61st Annual Newport Motor Car Festival. Now run by the Portsmouth Rotary Club, the Portsmouth Abbey Father’s Day Car Show has been running for longer than any other car show in the area. The event sprawls across the scenic acres of the Abbey with sweeping views of Narragansett Bay.

Among its highlights are a large number of Brass Era cars which come out for their once-yearly display. $15 to register, $5 Spectator Admission. Food on-site, beautiful grounds, judged show.

BMCNE will lead rides from two (2) convenient location:

The first location, Cardi’s Furniture & Mattress parking lot 1 Furniture Way, Swansea, MA. Alan Roseman will lead this ride and you can contact him at c. 401-474-1880 or alanroseman@icloud.com.

The second location, the Park and Ride parking lot on the corner of Boston Neck Road and Fleetwood Drive (Rt. 1A), Saunderstown, RI. This route will cross the Newport Toll Bridge, don’t forget your EZ-Pass! Chris Izzo will lead this ride and you can contact him at 401-595-9116 or chris@bmcne.org.

Both rides will take approximately 30 minutes. The plan is to gather at 8:15am and depart at 8:30am and drive to the Abbey.

This year we have moved from Colt State Park to Goddard Memorial Park. We have a reserved cookout location and plenty of "on site" parking, so all LBCs are welcome.

Shady trees and cool ocean breezes help make this annual event a popular one. All BMCNE members and friends are invited. BMCNE provides the location, grills, hot dogs and hamburgers. July is a great driving month and the BMCNE cookout is a great place to meet.

Join BMCNE for a cruise to The Collings Foundation in Stowe, MA!

Rendezvous at “Diamond Hill Park” Cumberland RI 8:30-9:00AM. (opposite the Ice Cream Machine) Rt 114 Cumberland,RI. Drivers meeting at 9:00 & leaving promptly at 9:15 AM. We will then take a 1.5 hour Cruise to The Collings Foundation no rush, easy going. There will be reserved lawn parking for BMCNE and guest LBC’s from other clubs. Plenty of Picnic area on the lawn, bring your basket, blanket, BYOB and goodies. Victory lap for BMCNE members & LBC’s from other clubs. There will be a chase car. Entire Cruise on scenic back roads!

Event is Saturday July 29th, Rain Date - Sunday July 30th. There will be a $15. donation per car, at the gate, with all proceeds going toward future restorations.

Minis on the Dragon

This is primarily a Mini event of new and classic Minis, other British classics have been known to join in!

Minis on the Dragon started out as an get together to drive 11-mile stretch of road with 318 curves aka the Dragon. That in itself is more than enough reason to travel to the breath taking mountains of North Carolina. But in the first weekend of May each year, it has evolved into much more than that. Just like our beloved MINI's have evolved into more. There is the 11-mile stretch of road, then you toss in the mountains, country roads and waterfalls. Wake up each morning and see hundreds of Mini's each day, attend dinners and events and go on group drives.

Belmont Town Day

For the last seven years, many British Cars have participated in a classic car display in Belmont Center. The town closes down the main street for a wonderful "Town Day" and we display our cars in "Monterey" style parking, angled to the sidewalk. The town provides us with bagels and muffins in the morning and pizza and soda at lunch. They feed us!! The town makes beautiful souvenir signs for us with our car information that we can use at other car shows.

The New England
British Reliability Run

For the 2017 New England British Reliability Run they will be chasing the Appalachian Trail as it crosses the White Mountains of New Hampshire and continues into Maine. The route will pass through the famous major notches in the White Mountains, along with crossing over some of the lesser known, but equally as stunning smaller notches through the northern New Hampshire and Western Maine mountains. The route we will cross over the Appalachian Trail numerous times as it winds north from Georgia for 2190 miles to the end in northern Maine. The fall foliage comes early in the high mountains and the scenery should be absolutely breathtaking. The route will be about 600 miles of back roads through the marvelous colors that can only be seen in New England…saddle-up, let’s get driving!
